T-T-Tacos at La Chingada

Tis the season for tacos and I am hooked! Do you want giant tacos, a gorgeous back patio and delightful staff? Look no further than La Chingada!

Located near Dundas West and Dovercourt, it’s a fairly new restaurant, but judging by the reviews, their popularity is growing quickly! Prices ranging from $6.50 for 1 taco to $25 for a Mexican platter, it’s very reasonably priced and the portions will not leave room for dessert.

We started with housemade Chips and Salsa($10). It came with a bowls of sauces for dipping: guac, salsa verde and salsa borracha. The chips were so good that we ran out of chips before sauce, so our server offered to bring us more. Love that!
 I was not prepared when the tacos arrived; they were as big as my face and I ordered 2...I almost ordered 3! Thank goodness, I didn’t! I went with the Fish Taco($6.50ea) because I have a basa fish addiction. The housemade corn tortilla was brimming with blackened basa, cilantro slaw(OMG) and Valentina mayo for a lil kick. I made quick work of that one...I also made a mess on the plate because the taco was so stuffed! My second taco was the Carne Asada Taco($6.50). This taco was stuff with a pile of marinated steak, fresh onions, cilantro and salsa borracha. A lil more onion than I’d like, but it was one tasty taco. Not to mention, pairing them with their housemade hot sauces was a treat! You've got to try them!

For drinks, the beer selection was small, but they offered domestic, Mexican and craft beer. The margaritas and cocktails were popular on the patio!
What a meal! Food portions were large and the staff were attentive yet genuine. Will definitely come back to try more of their tacos and hopefully have room for dessert!

La Chingada offers specials Sunday through Wednesday, including $3 Pastor Tacos(marinated pork) for Taco Tuesday!

TLDR;
Grab a drink.
Grab a taco.
Grab a seat on the patio.

Cheers,
Lisa
