Icy Treats at Ice Bar Oshawa

While in Oshawa visiting the fam, our sweet tooth(sweet teeth?) were calling. Wanting to try something new, we headed to Ice Bar. It's a cool new spot right near Hwy 2 and Simcoe. Floor to ceiling windows and lounge-like seating give this place a relaxed vibe. I've been here on 3 occasions, so don't think I ate all of this in one seating.....or did I? 😀

First up, Chocolate Banana Bingsu. It was my first time trying it and I loved it. You get your sugar fix without needing stretchy pants. The shaved ice makes you feel less guilty about eating dessert. Lots of toppings, so don't think you're just eating a bowl of ice. Also, their spoons are adorable.

Next was Pandora's Box. The menu said it was for 4 people. My mother and I looked at each other and said: Challenge accepted. It took about 10-15min or so for the food artist to create this masterpiece and it was worth the wait. It's a special flaky bread that was crumbly, light and sweet. A whole loaf was halved, hollowed out and filled with ice cream, berries, whipped cream and bread flakes. It was an adventure! We did pretty good considering it was as big as my head.
On my last visit, I went for the fondue. You get to choose 4 items for your chocolate pleasure. I had banana(obv), strawberry, pineapple and pretzels. It came on a fabulous plate with a mug o' chocolate complete with a candle in the bottom. Creamy milk chocolate and perfect bite sized goodies did the trick. It was pretty tasty, but I could've used more chocolate. I'm curious to see how much stuff/chocolate you get with the large fondue!

Service there is always good. They also offer Korean BBQ, but I haven't got a chance to try it. There's a lot of cool drinks and other eats, but the dessert always brings me back!

Check it out!
