Quinn’s Steakhouse is located in the heart of downtown. It’s a large establishment to suit groups of all sizes. We had a group of 7, but only made a reservation for 5 and they were able to accommodate us. It was a weekday, so they weren’t as busy, not sure if they could do it on a weekend.
We were there for Summerlicious (another late review, I know!) and we were hungry after the long drive downtown. It had an upscale feel in a pub atmosphere. Comfortable booths and chairs, cloth napkins with walls and floors of dark stained wood. Fancy!

We started with the cold Watermelon & Charred Ontario Sungold Tomato Soup. Cold soups always weird me out, so I wasn’t sure how a cold, fruit soup was going to go. It was surprisingly good. A few members of my group didn’t like it, but most of us did. It wasn’t as sweet as you’d expect and the texture was a bit rough as you’d expect watermelon to be. The other members went with one of the salads they offered as a starter and everyone enjoyed them. Crisp, fresh and lots of toppings.

Now for the mains; this is where Quinn really shone. Being a steakhouse, I had to get steak. Duh. Wow and wow. This Bacon Wrapped Tenderloin melted in your mouth. The knife barely had to do any work. The seasoning just made you wish the steak was bigger. A joy that ended too soon….not that the portion was too small, it’s that it was so good, I didn’t want to stop.

Other members of the group tried the Pepper Crusted Tuna Steak as well as the BBQ Chicken and Ribs. Let me tell you, it was the quietest dinner ever. The food was so good that none of us wanted to stop eating.

I don’t know if it was because of the pix fixe menu, but dessert was a real let down. None of us really enjoyed it. Seemed to be mass produced and refrigerated. I got the Lemon Poppyseed Cake and it was cold. I didn’t finish it. The rest of the meal was so good, that it made up for it.

The service was fantastic. They made excellent wine suggestions and made the evening run smoothly. We enjoyed that all of the food arrived at the same time, hot and fresh.

I’d love to visit Quinn’s again. Just writing about this makes me want to go back!
