It was my Aunt's birthday and we had a party of 14. They had the table ready when we arrived and the staff were very attentive. Due to the size of our group, they expertly suggested we go with the family style menu. They served us a variety of antipasti and salads and we each selected our own main course. The serving sizes were more than enough for each of us to have some.
Let's start with the salads and appetizers! and gigantic Calamari were first up.The Calamari was definitely . It was HUGE and the breading was fantastic. The salads were alright. The Con was my . The Arugula didn't do it for me. Sometimes when I eat arugula, all I think of is dirt.
With full tummies, our main course arrived. Holy crap. I couldn't believe I was still conscious at that point. I was so full and so happy, I didn't think I could eat another bite. I had the , 2 giant veal meatballs stuff with mozzarella cheese. I ate one. The other I took home and named Fluffy. My Aunt chose the sexy duck and loved every bite!
Dessert. I know what you're thinking. Thought I was in a food coma 2 courses ago, huh? I was, but I just couldn't help myself! My Aunt, the birthday girl, selected the Lemon Tart. I chose the Chocolate Mousse. It was creamy, light and not too sweet. A perfect ending to the endless meal!
"I have had several celebrations there and I like the vibe. The service is attentive and genuine. The family style menu offered suits a party, absolutely!! It's simple rustic food, it is what it is .... I liked that. The tomato seemed a bit out of place ... roasting out of season tomatoes could have changed the dish considerably ... the lemon tart was and Italian, and the coffee excellent .."
Good food and good company made this visit to 7 Numbers a good one. If you've got a hankering for Italian on the Danforth, drop in and leave satisfied.
