I drove by this place twice before I noticed it. It's just off of the main drag, surrounded by an oil change place and car dealerships, not where you'd expect a delightful restaurant like this! The décor is simple and classic with table settings to match. The menu is overwhelming, not large, but there's one problem....everything looks good. Oil and fresh, warm bread is served after taking our drink orders. MMmmmmm. After changing my mind 100 times, I decide on the Veal Scaloppine with Gnocchi on the side. I'm sorry, Nan....but these were the best gnocchi I had ever eaten. They were not small and dense like other gnocchi. These were large, light, fluffy and AMAZING. The veal was so tender, you didn't need a knife or teeth to eat it. We ate in silence because the food was too delicious. My friends ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Pasta Rustica and the Veal Marsala. Each of these dishes were done to perfection in perfect portions.....So perfect, there was room for dessert!

From my last taste of Tiramisu leaving a bland taste in my mouth, I was almost reluctant to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. It was so good, I didn't get a picture of it. It's not your typical homemade tiramisu. It was presented in a tall dessert dish with 2 large soaked ladyfingers standing in the rich, creamy custard. I was in heaven. Marcelo's has ruined me for any other tiramisu.

This is a quaint, classy venue where the staff treat you like family. The service was excellent and the owners were close by and stopped by each table to check in. The servers were polite, professional, knowledgeable but, not afraid to crack a joke. This family owned business is a hidden gem of this city that anyone who enjoys Italian food absolutely MUST try....but not for vegetarians. In the future, I hope they will add some vegetarian options. You can't let only the meat eaters enjoy this place!

Feeling a little more Italian,
